Use the Filter tab to configure a variety of restrictions for the dynamic distribution group. For example, you can select an organizational unit (OU) in the Active Directory directory service that contains the recipients you want to include in the dynamic distribution group. You can also specify the recipient types to include in the group.
The appearance of this tab depends on whether the dynamic distribution group uses a precanned filter or a custom recipient filter. (A precanned filter is a commonly-used Exchange 2007 filter that you can use to meet a variety of recipient-filtering criteria.) The following filter settings are available for a dynamic distribution group that uses a precanned filter.
- Select the recipient container where you want to apply this filter
-
- Click Browse to select the OU for the dynamic
distribution group. This opens the Select Organizational
Unit dialog box. Select the OU you want, and then click
OK.
- A dynamic distribution group contains all recipients that are
in the specified OU and any other OUs under it. By default, this OU
is the Users container in the Active Directory domain
that contains the Exchange server.
- Click Browse to select the OU for the dynamic
distribution group. This opens the Select Organizational
Unit dialog box. Select the OU you want, and then click
