The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Active Directory® directory service to determine whether each connection agreement has a valid value for msExchHomeSyncService. If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds a connection agreement that does not have a valid value for this attribute, a warning is displayed.

The msExchHomeSyncService attribute contains the Active Directory Connector (ADC) server on which the connection agreement is located.

You can see this warning if you remove an ADC server without first removing ADC, or removing the connection agreements on the ADC server. When you remove the ADC server, the connection breaks between the connection agreements and the ADC server. As a result, the objects that these connection agreements are responsible for will no longer replicate. If you use the ADC Manager snap-in on another ADC server, the connection agreements that were located on the ADC server that has been removed will not be displayed. However, these connection agreements still exist in Active Directory.

To resolve this issue, re-associate the old connection agreements with a new ADC server. One way to do this is to create a new connection agreement on the new ADC server, and then copy and paste the msExchHomeSyncService attribute from the new connection agreement to the old one.

To re-associate a connection agreement with an ADC server

  1. Start the ADC Manager snap-in.

  2. Create a new connection agreement.

  3. Start Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) Edit.

  4. Expand Configuration, expand Services, expand Microsoft Exchange, and then click Active Directory Connections.

  5. In the right pane, open the properties of the connection agreement that was just created.

  6. In the Select a property to view drop-down list, click msExchHomeSyncService.

  7. Copy the whole attribute from the Value(s) box, and then click OK.

  8. Open the properties of the connection agreement that you must re-associate.

  9. Click the Select a property to view drop-down list, and then click the msExchHomeSyncService attribute.

  10. Paste the copied value into the Edit Attribute box.

  11. Click Set, click Apply, and then click OK.
