The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Active Directory® directory service to determine the value of the versionNumber attribute for each Exchange Server object. The versionNumber attribute represents the version of Exchange Server that is running on the computer.
The Exchange Server Analyzer also queries the CIM_Datafile Microsoft Windows® Management Instrumentation (WMI) class to determine the value of the Version key for the STORE.EXE process.
- A value of 7638 for the Version key indicates Exchange
Server 2003 Service Pack 2
- A value of 7226 for the Version key indicates Exchange
Server 2003 Service Pack 1
- A value of 6944 for the Version key indicates the
original release of Exchange Server 2003
- A value in between the versions above indicates a that the
server is running a hotfix update version of the Store.exe
process.
If the Exchange Server Analyzer determines that the Version key for Store.exe has a value less than 7638, a warning is displayed.
This warning indicates that the Exchange Server computer is not running the latest available code for the version of Exchange Server running on the computer.
