The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Microsoft Active Directory® directory service to determine the value of the LinkID attribute on the Global-Address-List schema attribute object. The Global-Address-List object is used on a Exchange container to store the distinguished name of a newly created global address list (GAL).
If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds that the value of the LinkID attribute of the Global-Address-List object is set to a value of 4048, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a non-default configuration message. A value of 4048 indicates that the Active Directory forest is configured for a Hosted Exchange environment.
The Exchange Server Analyzer reports this configuration for informational purposes only. No action is required.
