To enable or disable compliance logging, use the Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Group Chat Configuration tool. In most cases, logging should be enabled.

Caution:
Any chats, chat histories, or file downloads that occur while this check box is cleared are not logged for compliance.

To enable or disable logging

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Lync Server 2010 Group Chat.

  2. Open the Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Group Chat Configuration tool.

  3. On the File menu, click Configure Server Settings.

  4. On the left side of the console tree, click System Wide, and then click the Compliance tab.

  5. Select or clear the Enable Compliance Logging check box, and then click OK.
