The Microsoft Lync 2010 Group Chat functionality in Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Group Chat provides a form of collaboration in which groups of users join online chat rooms to participate in persistent, ongoing conversations centered on specific topics. Chat rooms primarily consist of short text messages, although it can include longer messages, referred to as stories, and also hyperlinks, emoticons, and uploaded documents or images. Access to a chat room is controlled by a membership list. The entire chat room history is available to any member for chronological review or full-text search.
