Issue   You are unable to install Microsoft Lync Web App.

Resolution   Make sure that your computer is running a supported operating system. For a list of supported operating systems, see “Supported Platforms for Lync Web App” at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=212762.

If your computer is running Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server 2003, try disabling the Do not save encrypted pages to disk option by doing the following:

  1. In Windows Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.

  2. On the Advanced tab, if the Do not save encrypted pages to disk option is enabled (it is enabled by default on server computers), click it to disable it.

  3. Download and run the Lync Web App installer.

If you still cannot install Lync Web App, you might need to change the default security settings. For details about how to change these settings, see “DisableMSI” at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=212763.
