Issue   On a computer running Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 (SP2), or a previous version of Windows Vista, when you try to install Microsoft Lync Web App, the process fails and you receive a User Account Control (UAC) error.

Resolution   Enable UAC by using the following procedure, and then try installing Lync Web App again.

  1. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.

  2. In the System Configuration dialog box, click the Tools tab, and then click Enable UAC.

  3. Click Launch.

  4. A Command Prompt window opens saying, "The operation completed successfully." Close the Command Prompt window.

  5. In the System Configuration dialog box, click OK.

  6. Restart the computer.
