Devices only get the user’s voice mail and calendar information after the Exchange Unified Messaging (UM) certificate has been downloaded to the device. The only way to get this certificate is to physically connect the device to a computer running Microsoft Lync 2010, and have the user log on to Lync 2010. The Exchange UM certificate will then be copied down to the device. After this point, the user’s voice mails, calendar and other information will be available on the device. The user will be able to join meetings directly from the device.
Device Does Not Have Calendar and Voice Mail Information
Issue: the user has logged on to the device and onto Lync Server 2010. The user can make and receive calls, but the calendar and other Exchange information is not available.
Resolution: Connect the device using a USB cable to a computer running Lync 2010. After the user has connected the device, have the user log on to Lync 2010, and the Exchange UM certificate will be downloaded to the device. After this point, the user’s voice mails, calendar, and other Exchange information will be available on the device. The user will be able to join meetings directly from the device.
