The installation wizard installs the files necessary for Monitoring Server.

Important:
If Monitoring Server and the Monitoring Server database will be located on separate computers, SQL-DMO for SQL Server 2005 must be installed on the Monitoring Server computer. If it is not already installed, the Office Communications Server deployment tool will install it when you deploy Monitoring Server.

To install the program files

  1. Log on as a member of the Administratorsgroup to the computer where you want to install Monitoring Server. If you want to activate Monitoring Server immediately after installation, you must also log on as a member of the DomainAdminsor RTCUniversalServerAdminsgroups.

  2. Start the deployment tool by going to setup\amd64, and then double-clicking either setupEE.exe or setupSE.exe.

  3. Click Deploy Other Server Roles, and then click Deploy Monitoring Server.

  4. In the Deployment Wizard, at Step 1: Install Files for Monitoring Server, click Install.

  5. On the Welcome to the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Monitoring Server Setup Wizardpage, click Next.

  6. Review the license agreement, click I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.

  7. On the Install Location for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Monitoring Server page, accept the default or select a location to install the files, and then click Next.

  8. On the Confirm Installationpage, click Nextto confirm that you want to proceed with the installation.

  9. When the files have been installed and the wizard has completed, click Close.

You are now ready to activate Monitoring Server.
