Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) is required for Office Communications Server 2007 R2. If you install Office Communications Server by using the deployment tool wizard, Setup prompts you to install this prerequisite, and it automatically installs it if it is not already installed on the computer. If you choose not to install it, Office Communications Server will not run correctly.

The 64-bit .NET Framework must be used when a supported 64-bit operating system is installed.
