Monitoring Server uses Message Queuing to ensure reliability when processing data. Before you install Monitoring Server, you must install and configure Message Queuing on the server that will run Monitoring Server.
Installation Prerequisites
- Because Message Queuing for Monitoring Server relies on Active
Directory Domain Services (AD DS) for encryption to the destination
queue, you must install Message Queuing with its Active Directory
Integration option. This option is installed by default when you
install Message Queuing.
- You must set the privacy level to either
Bodyor
Optional. The default setting is Optional.
To install Message Queuing on a server running Windows Server 2008

Log on as a member of the Administratorsgroup to the server that will be running Monitoring Server.

Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager.

Click Add Features.

Expand Message Queuing, expand Message Queuing Services, and then select the check boxes for the Message Queuing features that you want to install.

Click Next, and then click Install.

If you are prompted to restart the computer, click OKto complete the installation.
To install Message Queuing on a server running Windows Server 2003

Log on as a member of the Administratorsgroup to the server that will be running Monitoring Server, and as a member of the Domain Adminsgroup (to install the Active Directory subcomponent).

Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.

In the Add or Remove Programsdialog box, click Add/Remove Windows Components.

On the Windows Componentspage, select the Application Servercheck box, and then click Details.

In the Application Serverdialog box, select the Message Queuing check box, and then click OK.

On the Windows Componentspage, click Next.

Accept the default settings in the wizard to complete the installation. One of the default settings enables Active Directory Integration, which is required for Monitoring Server.
