In this section, you learn about the steps that an Office Communications Server administrator takes to configure Office Communications Server to work with Web Service Provider. Before the Outlook Live client can access IM and presence information from Office Communications Server, you must configure certain elements on the server running Office Communications Server. The most important of these is the provisioning of trust. With trust provisioning, the Outlook Live server can register against the correct Office Communications Server. A separate tool, the Web Trust Tool, automates this process for the administrator and is available for download. Additionally, the Office Communications Server administrator needs to grant access to all Outlook Live users who need to access IM and presence functionality.
