This topic describes the operating systems and the database management system that are supported for running Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Standard Edition.
Supported Operating
Systems
One of the following operating systems is required for all roles of Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Standard Edition, including Archiving Server, Monitoring Server, Director, Communicator Web Access, Group Chat Server, Mediation Server, and Edge Server:
- The 64-bit edition of Windows Server 2008 Standard, or the
64-bit edition of Windows Server 2008 Enterprise
- Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition with SP2, or
Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 Edition with SP2
- Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 Edition with SP2, or Windows
Server 2003 Enterprise x64 Edition with SP2
Supported Back-End Server
Database
Office Communications Server 2007 R2 is bundled with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with SP2 (32-bit).
