You can configure transport and authentication requirements for Microsoft Communicator “14” Phone Edition devices in a pool by setting the SIP security level for IP phones connecting to Microsoft Communications Server 2010.

To configure security settings for Communicator Phone Edition

  1. Open Communications Server Control Panel.

  2. Click Clients, and then click Device Configuration.

  3. On the Device Configuration tab, in the list of device configurations, double-click the configuration for which you want to change security settings.

  4. In the Edit Device Configuration dialog box, under SIP security, specify the SIP security level. The default level is High.
