When you enable client logging in Office Communicator 2007 R2, the Communicator log file (that is, communicator-uccp-log-uccplog) contains information about the interaction of Office Communicator 2007 R2 with Office Communications Server 2007 R2.

Note:
If you are using the Windows Vista operating system, to enable logging you must be logged on as a member of the Performance Log Users group. For instructions, see "To join the Performance Log Users group" procedure in Capturing Audio Signals To Debug Live Meeting 2007.

You can enable logging in Office Communicator 2007 R2 as follows:

  1. Click the Menubutton.

  2. On the Toolsmenu, click Options.

  3. On the Generaltab, under Logging, select the Turn on logging in Communicatorcheck box.

  4. If you want to save logging information in the Microsoft Office Outlook communication and collaboration client, on the Personaltab, under Personal information Manager, select the Save my call logs in the Outlook Conversation History foldercheck box.

  5. Sign out of Communicator, and then sign back in for the changes to take effect.

The log file is created in the Windows <user profile>\Tracing folder.
