A variety of logging and diagnostic tools are available to help you troubleshoot Enterprise Voice issues. Some tools are available with Office Communications Server 2007 R2, and some are available separately. The following table summarizes these tools and provides links to topics that describe how to use them in more detail.

Some of the tools that are described in this section require separate installation. We recommend that you determine the tools that you want to use for troubleshooting early in your deployment, and that you install the tools as soon as possible after you have deployed Office Communications Server. |

A set of administrative tools that simulate audio traffic and provide configurable reporting and alerting to validate end-to-end audio quality and to facilitate detection and diagnosis of audio and connectivity issues. The Deployment Validation Tool includes the Answering Agent Tool, which end users and Help desk personnel can use for end-to-end validation of voice quality. |

A protocol analysis tool that displays logs that are generated by the Office Communications Server Logging Tool. Snooper loads the supplied log file and displays its messages. You can also use Snooper to view failed voice call reports (that is, database reports). |

A script that creates contact objects for Exchange Unified Messaging subscriber access and auto-attendants. The utility can validate that Office Communications Server location profile names match the FQDNs of the Exchange Unified Messaging dial plans. |

A script that grants Office Communications Server permission to read Exchange UM Active Directory objects. The script also creates a Unified Messaging IP gateway that points to the Office Communications Server pools. |
