Sound Recorder is included with Windows operating systems. You can use it to investigate device-related audio issues. If Sound Recorder can reproduce an audio quality issue, the device under study is a cause.

When using Sound Recorder to test for audio issues, first verify that it is configured to use the same audio device that is used by Office Communicator. If it is configured to use a different audio device, change the configuration to use the audio device used by Office Communicator, and then change the configuration back to the original device after you complete testing.
