The Deployment Validation Tool allows you to perform automated testing of calls between agents that are Office Communications Server 2007 R2 clients. The console displays the results of the tests.
The agents are lightweight services that can run on any type of computer, including computers that already run other programs. The agents periodically send audio traffic to each other, measure the quality, and send data back to the organizer. By default, each agent calls every other agent in both a peer-to-peer conversation and in a conference that is mediated by Office Communications Server. The organizer has built-in, configurable reporting and alerting capabilities.
You can use the tool to detect both connectivity and quality issues. Because the test suite is configurable, it is also useful for targeted troubleshooting: you can test only specific connections or even a single connection. The Deployment Validation Tool is useful not only for troubleshooting specific issues, but also for continuous, proactive monitoring of audio traffic in your Office Communications Server deployment.

The reporting and alerting functionality of the Deployment
Validation Tool can be integrated with the Microsoft Operations

The Deployment Validation tool includes the Answering Agent Tool, which can act as a voice client in your Office Communications Server deployment. You or an end user can place a call to the answering agent, which prompts the caller to record a message. After the message is recorded, the answering agent plays the message back to verify voice quality over the connection.
The Deployment Validation tool is included with Office
Communications Server 2007 R2 Resource Kit Tools, available as
