Use the Mailbox Settings page to configure the mailbox settings, such as the alias and the storage location for the mailbox. You can also assign messaging records management (MRM) and Exchange ActiveSync policies to the mailbox.
Use this page to configure the following mailbox settings.
- Alias
-
Use this text box to type the alias of the user. By default, the alias is automatically populated based on the User logon name (User Principal Name) of the user. If the user logon name contains any characters that are not valid for the alias field, they will be replaced by underscore characters (_).
The alias cannot exceed 64 characters and must be unique in the forest.
Note: If you are creating mailboxes for multiple existing users, this text box will be unavailable and will display the following message: An alias will be automatically generated for each new mailbox.
- Mailbox database
-
Click Browse to open the Select Mailbox Database dialog box. This dialog box lists all the mailbox databases in your Exchange organization. By default, the mailbox databases are sorted by name. You can also click the title of the corresponding column to sort the databases by storage group name or server name. Select the mailbox database you want to use, and then click OK.
- Managed folder mailbox policy

Select this check box to assign a managed folder mailbox policy to the mailbox.
When you select this check box, the Browse button is enabled. Click Browse to select a policy from a list of available managed folder mailbox policies.
