Restrict Access to a Channel

You can limit user access to a registered channel using one of these four methods:

Restrict channel access to authenticated users. This method prevents a chat user from joining the channel as an anonymous user, even with a password.
Restrict channel access to invited users. This method prevents a chat user from joining the channel unless explicitly invited.
Restrict channel access by member password. To join this type of channel, a chat user must provide a member password as part of the Join command.
Restrict channel access by Security settings. To join this type of channel, a chat user must be identified as a User on the channel's Security tab.

Tip You can also restrict access to a channel using the Access or Mode +b commands from a chat client. Channel restrictions set in this manner are not permanent; they are reset when the chat community is restarted.
